RFEDA.- La Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEDA) y TATUUS han alcanzado un acuerdo multianual por el cual, a partir de 2022, el Campeonato de España de Fórmula 4 contará con la segunda generación del exitoso monoplaza italiano bautizado como TATUUS F4 T-021.
El Campeonato de España de Fórmula 4, a lo largo de sus seis años de vida, se ha afianzado como uno de los mejores certámenes de F4 del mundo gracias a su crecimiento exponencial en cada temporada. Desde su creación se ha mantenido la máxima de ofrecer a equipos y pilotos un paquete atractivo en cuanto a coche, circuitos y formato de fin de semana cuya relación calidad-precio fuese atractiva para los jóvenes talentos provenientes del karting.
Así, tras ratificarse la nueva normativa FIA para los campeonatos de Fórmula 4, la RFEDA confirma al certamen español como uno de los referentes en la categoría al extender la relación que comenzó con TATUUS en 2016 y que, a partir de la próxima temporada, se verá reforzada con la introducción del nuevo TATUUS F4 T-021 como único monoplaza oficial del Campeonato de España de Fórmula 4.
Este chasis sustituirá al actual T-014 (mantiene homologación FIA hasta 2023) y contará por primera vez con halo, principal elemento de seguridad introducido por la FIA en las categorías de monoplazas a nivel internacional desde 2018. Además de múltiples mejoras a nivel de seguridad en la estructura del monocasco o el asiento del piloto, el TATUUS F4 T-021 también introducirá otras novedades como un sistema de frenado mejorado, una caja de cambios más ligera y hecha a medida para este chasis o un nuevo volante.Todo esto, unido a una adquisición de datos y software Marelli renovados y al hasta ahora inédito espacio para almacenar energía, harán al T-021 apto para la hibridación de su motor 1.4L preparado por Abarth y Autotecnica.
Por todo ello, las mencionadas actualizaciones convertirán a la segunda generación del TATUUS F4, de nuevo, no sólo en el referente de los campeonatos de Fórmula 4 de todo el mundo, sino también en la base de futuros monoplazas de otros certámenes como ya ocurrió con la primera generación.
Manuel Aviño, presidente de la RFEDA, celebra el acuerdo alcanzado remarcando el valor que la competición ha adquirido en base a su excelsa reputación a lo largo de los años transcurridos. “Tras consolidarse como uno de los grandes referentes a nivel internacional, el Campeonato de España de Fórmula 4 sigue evolucionando en términos de seguridad y de organización, con noticias como la que hoy celebramos. Gracias al formato adoptado por el certamen en 2018, con los equipos y la Federación Española trabajando por un mismo objetivo, en estos momentos gozamos de un campeonato potente, que aspira a liderar el panorama mundial de la Fórmula 4. Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento para Tatuus y para todo el equipo de la Agrupación Deportiva F4 Spain por su compromiso con este proyecto”.
Desde la firma italiana están orgullosos de haber sido escogidos por la RFEDA para el desarrollo del nuevo monoplaza, tal y como cuenta su CEO Giovanni Delfino: “Tatuus Racing y Autotecnica Motori nos sentimos orgullosos y honrados de haber sido elegidos por la Federación Española como socios de chasis y motor para la nueva generación de coches de Fórmula4 y para el inicio de esta nueva era. También destaca el incremento en rendimiento y seguridad que supone esta nueva generación de monoplaza. “Siguiendo las prescripciones de la FIA, el diseño y el proyecto del Tatuus F4-T021 aumentará la seguridad y el rendimiento. Dará a los pilotos la oportunidad de salir del karting y entrar en el mundo de la Fórmula en un coche que será el comienzo perfecto de un camino que los llevará a las principales Series”.

The Spanish Formula 4 Championship will run with the new TATUUS F4 T-021 in 2022
The Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation (RFEDA) and TATUUS have reached a multi-year agreement whereby, from 2022, the Spanish Formula 4 Championship will run the second generation of the successful Italian single-seater christened TATUUS F4 T-021.
The Spanish Formula 4 Championship, throughout its six years of life, has established itself as one of the best F4 competitions in the world thanks to its exponential growth in each season. Since its creation, the maxim has been to offer teams and drivers an attractive package in terms of car, circuits and weekend format, whose value for money would be attractive to young talents coming from karting. Thus, after ratifying the new FIA regulations for the Formula 4 championships, the RFEDA confirms the Spanish championship as one of the benchmarks in the category by extending the relationship that began with TATUUS in 2016 and that, from next season, will be reinforced with the introduction of the new TATUUS F4 T-021 as the only official single-seater of the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.
This chassis will replace the current T-014 (maintains FIA homologation until 2023) and will feature for the first time a halo, the main safety element introduced by the FIA in single-seater categories at international level since 2018. In addition to multiple safety improvements in the monocoque structure or the driver’s seat, the TATUUS F4 T-021 will also introduce other new features such as an improved braking system, a lighter gearbox tailor-made for this chassis or a new steering wheel. All this, together with a renewed data acquisition and Marelli software and the so far unpublished space for energy storage, will make the T-021 suitable for the hybridisation of its 1.4L engine prepared by Abarth and Autotecnica.
Therefore, the aforementioned updates will make the second generation of the TATUUS F4, once again, not only the benchmark for Formula 4 championships around the world, but also the basis for future single-seaters in other competitions, as was the case with the first generation.

They emphasize that, under FIA guidelines, they have managed to build a car whose performance and safety conforms to the newest directives of the International Federation: «Following FIA requirements, the design and layout of the Tatuus F4-T021 will increase safety and performance. It will give drivers the opportunity to get out of karting and enter the world of Formula racing in a car that will be the perfect start of a path that will take them to the top Series».
